TEACHING AND PLAYING EXPERIENCE
Scott Thomas Ferreira has been teaching private guitar and bass lessons professionally for 9 years in the New York City and Nassau County area.
With over 15 years of experience he has become fluent in many styles including ROCK, BLUES, JAZZ, FUNK, and FUSION with a vast knowledge of improvisation in ALL styles. Scott also has a working knowledge of both Classical and Jazz theory as well as beginner Classical guitar.
Scott teaches all styles to all ages with a focus on providing a strong musical background. In his lessons Scott emphasizes technique, sight-reading, theory, and fretboard knowledge. He also makes learning fun by teaching both classic and popular songs.
He currently works 5 days a week at Music Emporium, a highly respected and long time established teaching facility on Long Island.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
Scott earned his BFA in music from the City College of New York in 2003. There he studied with legendary musicians including Ron Carter and John Patitucci. He has also studied with some of the top, modern guitar players including Wayne Krantz, David Gilmore, and Kenny Wessel. He also studied classical guitar with Long Island greats Steve Leonard and Bill Zito.

$25 a 1/2 HOUR
$45 an HOUR
Lessons can be taught in the comfort of your home or at his studio at Music Emporium in N. Bellmore NY (where hourly rates are $50).
Times are currently open on Monday through Friday from 10am to 1pm.
